The Mixer, December, 2007 Vancouver Island Sister Shelly Ervin reports a new collective agreement has been negotiated for members working at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #137, in Campbell River on Vancouver Island. Members have negotiated 2% wage increases along with improvements to the Health & Welfare Plan and increases to the Pension Plan. Increases to raise the dental fee guide to the current year have also been negotiated. This contract will expire in August, 2008. Members working at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Duncan have also ratified a new collective agreement that features 2% wage increases, improvements to RRSP contribution language, a signing bonus and elimination of the two-tiered wage schedule after reaching 2600 hours. This contract will expire in April, 2010. Bargaining is ongoing with the Duncan Elks and RCL #172 in Victoria on Vancouver Island. |
