Friday, July 20, 2007 Richmond, BC - Workers at Cara Airline Solutions "buttoned up" at work today to show solidarity and support for their bargaining committee as contract negotiations continue at this airline food production facility.
With bargaining resuming tomorrow, workers are continuing to seek fair wage increases and improvements to their benefits package as well as specific shift differentials, among other improvements. Local 40 members working at Cara recently placed wages at the top of the list when surveyed. A majority member petition has also been delivered to management at Cara to reinforce the member's commitment to a negotiated settlement they can all be proud of. The contract at Cara expires on July 31, 2007. Workers engaged in strike action at this facility in 2004 as they successfully fought back employer concessions. Click here to view photos. |
